Wellness practitioners aren’t short on ideas.
A workshop. A 1:1 offer. A group. A course. Then another version, because the last one didn’t quite land.
Here’s the biggest mistake I see:
→ Adding new things instead of deepening what already exists.
The pattern 🔁
You run a workshop. Two people show up. So you scrap it, and start building something new from scratch.
Or, even worse, it goes great. Everyone loves it. And you never run it again. 🤦♀️ (I see this ALL. THE. TIME.)
You never ask the people who attended how it went. You never run it again for the ones who wanted to come but had work or a kid’s soccer game.
This is how good work never gets the chance to work.
Creativity is a gift. But unchecked, it’s also a very sophisticated way to avoid the slow, unsexy work that actually builds a practice.
More offers = more problems 🙃
Every shiny new offer comes with hidden costs:
Another marketing plan
Another round of copywriting
Another existential “wait, who is this even for?”
Less energy for literally everything else
Diluted offers = diluted messaging.
(Want steadier income? Start by keeping the clients you already have.)
Refine, don’t reinvent
Doing less doesn’t mean doing nothing. It means:
🔹 Refining what you’ve already built
🔹 Listening to the people who actually showed up
🔹 Deepening your expertise before you go wide
The payoff? Clients get what you do, who you’re for, and who to send your way. And your nervous system gets to stop running five businesses at once.
Fill it before you build it 🌱
Your job isn’t to keep creating. It’s to fill what you’ve already made.
Don’t add anything new until your current offer passes this test:
✅ You know exactly who it’s for
✅ You can explain it in one sentence (no rambling preamble)
✅ You get reliable results
✅ You can run it on repeat without reinventing it every time
Then adding something new is an expansion, not an escape hatch.Slower. Deeper. More honest.
The most sustainable practices aren’t built by the people doing the most. They’re built by the people willing to do less, on purpose, for long enough that it actually works.
Boring? A little. Effective? Ridiculously.
